Similarities
Though watercolor painting had many dramatic transformations, there were also many similarities through time. For example though materials changed, they remained the same concept. This concept of water and dried color still remains till this day. Another similarity that has remained through watercolors transformation is transparency. In early cave paintings, painted with water pigments, paintings were depicted with slight transparency. Though this technique was lost in egyptian watercolor paintings it came back through the renaissance. "The transparent style allows for the viewer to read quickly through the material."-Charlotte Gannaway. These are the similarities which have remained through watercolors transformation.
